Christel Prudhomme, PhD

Environmental Forecasts Team Leader

Dr. Prudhomme is a hydrologist with over 25 years of experience in hydrological extremes. She leads the Environmental Forecast Team at the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) and heads the Computational Centre of the Copernicus Emergency Management Service Early Warning System flood component, responsible for the coordination, production, and operational delivery of all CEMS-Flood products and services, including the Global Flood Awareness System. Prior to joining ECMWF she worked for the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology in the UK and for Électricité de France. She holds an Earth Science master’s degree and a Ph.D. in hydrology from the University of Montpellier.
